In 2021 SFF entered into a multi-year partnership with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to fundamentally change the organizational structure of the Department of Catholic Schools (DCS) to systemically improve the business, academic and leadership support structure for over 270 elementary and high schools that comprise the system of Catholic schools in the Archdiocese.  Renewing our Promise, Advancing our Mission in a New Era is a multi-year project to reorganize the Department of Catholic Schools (DCS) and refresh and/or reimagine business practices. DCS’s work over the next few years is intended to materially change the system within which Catholic schools in the ADLA exist

Access to a quality education is a human right, a necessary step in the journey out of poverty, and represents our largest historic investment area to date. Catholic schools have long provided quality access to LA’s inner-city children, with tens of thousands of low-income students currently enrolled in the Los Angeles Archdiocese. We are proud to work with DCS and other local partners such as Loyola Marymount University and the Catholic Schools Collaborative to reimagine this system of schools for growth and increased impact during a time where privately funded, low-income serving schools face financial pressure and risk of closure.
