Our $50,000 investment in the Challenger Memorial Youth Center is helping fund the innovative center’s Project Manager position. The Project Manager will be focused on fundraising efforts, finding and managing contractors, designing programs, and working with partners to support the center’s life-transforming job and life-skill training.

Just 58% of LA County’s foster youth graduate from high school, and only 3% go on to college. Specialty Family Foundation is working with partners like the LA County Probation Department and the Center for Strategic Partnerships to change those startling statistics. This includes investing in greater opportunities for atrisk youth who might otherwise fall through the cracks. Once LA’s largest juvenile detention facility, the Challenger Memorial Youth Center is undergoing a transition as an innovative career training center for young men and women — many of whom are also parents. We’re honored to support the Center in empowering underserved youth to build a brighter future.
