In an innovative strategy to connect vulnerable community members to healthcare services during COVID-19, Specialty Family Foundation has directed $50,000 toward the purchase of 45 mobile devices that allow Venice Family Clinic staff to provide remote patient care to underserved patients. The Clinic now provides upwards of 1,700 telehealth visits per week for a wide range of healthcare services including primary and specialty care, dental and vision, mental health, substance use treatment, pharmacy services, and health education.

Opened in 1970, the Venice Family Clinic serves people in need who might
otherwise have limited access to basic and vital healthcare services. With 75% of
their patients falling below the poverty line, and 16% of their patients living without
housing, the Clinic has been a critical resource for its communities’ most vulnerable
members. With the onset of COVID-19, access to the Clinic’s services has become
more important than ever. Our investment in telehealth technology helps the Clinic
continue to serve their patients during this health crisis.
